Intermediate League – Sidmouth v Budleigh Salterton
It always feels good to win, especially a local derby against Budleigh Salterton. Sidmouth’s Intermediate Croquet Team squeaked a win last week (16th May) by the narrowest of margins, 4:3. There were concerns before the match started when a Budleigh player got caught up in traffic for the Devon County Show but all came good in the end. The home team was ably captained by Julie Horsley with Sue Rogers and Sue and Kelvin Dent (croquet being a game that can be played without marital discord).
South East Division (SWF) Golf Croquet Handicap League
On Sunday 26th. May we took a team of 8 to play Budleigh Salterton. The lawns at Budleigh were in very good condition and the weather was pleasant. The match was played in a friendly spirit and it was an enjoyable day. Graeme Pryor won both his singles and he and Margaret Piper drew their doubles match. The final result was a well-deserved win for Budleigh 12 1/2 to 7 1/2 for Sidmouth.
